The Touro Synagogue is a 1763 synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island, that is the oldest synagogue building still standing in the United States,[1] the oldest surviving Jewish synagogue building in North America and the only surviving synagogue building in the U.S. dating to the colonial era. [from Wikipedia] This was one of the first places we visited when we got to Newport. I wish I had a fish eye lens (or super wide) to make this fit and give a neat look. Oh well, it was neat to see the oldest synagogue in the US.

We went for a drive along the coast just outside of Newport and it really reminded me of the drive along CA-1 near Big Sur/Monterey. We pulled over at a beach, got out, and had some fun. We found this neat rock staircase built into the jetty!
